Things you need to know before trying to make money online

• Make sure you are up to the challenge of making money online.  Most people will lead you to think that making money online is a breeze.  Really, it takes time and patients to make the type of money online that you will be satisfied with.

• Don’t just jump into a niche because you have read that others are successful in it.  Just because another person is making money in there niche does not mean you will be equally successful.

• Think about a niche, talent or product that interested you.  Try to capitalize on it, or if you like a particular product. Join its affiliate program and market it.

• DON’T GIVE UP!!  Frastrated newbies are easley discourage at the signs of empty pockets and tend to give up easily.  Remeber, it could take up to 1 month to a year before you see any real money.

From the items you have listed above, choose two that are your favorite.

From the two favorite items you picked, choose one that you have more knowledge in.

Now that you have chosen your niche, its time to test your market or find ideas.

1. Write down five general questions to find out how people feel about your new found niche. Example:  I you were looking for the perfect e-book about making money, what do you think should be in the book,
2. Search Google for a good forum that relates to your niche.  Register and post your five questions on the forum to receive feedback on theme.  This should give you a good starting point on where to start with your new found niche.  It worked for me!

To achieve reciprocal link exchange success, apply the following strategies to your own.

• Visit your competitors’ sites and complementary sites and examine their links or resources pages.
• Search major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or MSN. Search for website that is related or similar to your own web content.

How to request a reciprocal link

1. Keep a spread sheet or records of sites you have linked to and requested links from.  You will need to know who you have contacted and who has not replied.
2. Find a good quality website that relates to your website content.
3. Search for their reciprocal link information on their website.
4. Place their reciprocal information on your website.  Place the link information somewhere on your home page or your link/resource page.
5. Once you have placed their link on your site, email the owner of the site a short, friendly note. (Sample Link Exchange Letter)
6. In your not tell the web site owner you have added their site to your own, giving them the URL of the page where you have place their link.
7. Ask for a link back to your web site, suggesting a page where the link would be appropriate.
8. Wait a few days, allowing time for the web owner to respond to your email.  If there is been no reply, send a brief, polite reminder.

Boost Page Ranking from Link Exchanging?

Some webmaster concentrate on exchanging links from website that only has high Page Ranking to boost page ranking.  If you are interested in this approach, SEChat’s Page Ranking Search is a useful free search tool to use.  It give you search results from Google plus their Page Ranking.

Exchanging Newsletters or Articles!

You can exchange newsletters or articles with other newsletter/article publishers in your niche.  Write an article and request web site owner to publish your article on their website in exchange to publish one of their articles on your site.

• Start with a brief description of your site’s content and how it relates to their site.
• Provide the exact URL of your page where you have added their website link information.
• Finally, give the HTML code for your link so the website owner can cut and paste it directly into their page.

Dear website owner, [always use the person's real name if you have it],

I’ve greatly enjoyed looking through your [domain name] website, especially the [list a article from the web owners website].  I have a website on a related subject and I think it might be of interest to your readers.  [List the name of a article that relates to the web owner's website and your domain name].  This page provides a detailed [list a few details about the article]. The page is located [use the exact URL that you want the site to link to].

I thought a good place on your site to link from would be on your “links” page, here:  [use the exact URL that you hope the site will link from].

Here is a description that you can use if you like:

• Post on forums and blogs that relate to your website topic or niche.
• Add website or niche links to your signature. Use keywords that relate to your website or niche. Example: Making Easy Money
• Give advice and answer questions. Try to help others with problems or give advice only on topics that relate to your website or niche.
• Do your research before giving advice, giving people the wrong information can have a negative affect on your marketing campaign.
• When answering a person question or giving advice. Do not give the person the whole answer, instead try to encourage them to visit your website or article(s) to get the rest of the answer.
• Create controversial topics. Controversial topics produce mass amounts of traffic.

A site map is one page or sometimes a set of pages, which lists all, or most of the pages on a web site.

What type of file is a sitemap?

A true sitemap has an xml extension. Example “Sitemap.xml”

What program can I use to create a sitemap file?

Any standard text or program editor program.

Here is the basic layout and format of a sitemap file. I know that this is a quick tutorial, but the example that you see here is the same that I use for my website and it is Google approved.

What are you going to put into your sitemap file?

You will enter most or all of your most important web page links from your website. Example;

OK, to the point!!

1. Open your favorite text editor.

Add the following line at the beginning of the page, without the quotes. This line will tell your web browser what type of file it is viewing.

5. Save your sitemap.xml file to your web hosting service.

Now visit, http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ to validate your sitemap.xml file. If you sitemap returns no errors, you have created the perfect sitemap file.

If you do not have a Google Webmaster Tools account, I would advice you sign up for it. Add your site map link, http://www.yourdomainname.com/sitemap.xmll to Google site map tools to have your sitemap index with Google.

Reading the (Tough Decisions and Desperation) article encourage me to write this article and let you know, there are other ways to make money online to pay a few bills, without starting a online business.

People who are interested in making money online need it free and fast. Like most people, you do not have time to go through the process of starting an online business. But, you would like to know how you can make some quick money online. Below, I have listed a few different ways you can make some money online, fast and free.

You may not realize it, but you may have $1,000 or more lying around your house that you can sell online. Things that you may think of as junk or no value can be valuable to other people. And by selling these items at a reasonable price, it is possible to make enough money to pay a few of your bills.

Once you have found all the items you would like to sell online, the next thing you need to do, is find out where you can sell them.

• The first place I would go is Ebay. Ebay has a large customer base with thousands of people constantly looking for items to buy. The good thing about Ebay is, all your customers are in one location. So, you would not have to wait long before a person finds your item. Registering at Ebay is free! But they do charge some small fees to post your items to their web site.

• Like Ebay, Ioffer.com provides a large customer base and is even better than Ebay when it comes to their fees. Unlike Ebay, IOffer.com will only charge you a small fee only if your item sales at the end of auction.

• Craigslists.org is a free online classified ad site, where you can post your items free locally or nationally. Posting items on Craigslists.org would be the fastest way to make money. Unlike Ebay or IOffer.com, you do not have to wait until an auction ends and hope that a person has bided on your item to make a little money. Once you post a free listing on Craigslists.org, you should start receiving emails or phone calls from potential customers within 24 hours.

• Online Local News Papers is another great place to post free listings to make money. Many people tend to forget about their local news papers, because of other popular online sources. Most news paper companies today have online systems, where you can post items to there classified ad section free of charge.

Above, I have provided a few places where you can sell some of your unwanted belongings free to make some quick money. Here are just a few tips to help you sell your items faster and easier.

• Do not set your prices too high! Remember, most of the things you will be selling is out-dated or used. So marking your prices to high can make it difficult for you to make money.

• Be honest when you are selling used things! Let the buyers know as much about the item you are trying to sell. The less information you provide, the less interested the buyer will be.

• Pictures are worth a thousand words! Take pictures of the things you would like to sell. Buyers love to see pictures of the things they would like to purchase.
  

1. It gives them extract security when they actually see what they are interested in buying.
2. It encourages them to buy.
3. It also provides proof that you really have the item and how it looks.
   

• Do not play games with your buyers! If a person emails or calls you about an item you are selling. Try to reply back as fast as possible. This gives the buyer that extra encouragement that you are interested in their business and that you are trust worthy.

• I would encourage you to setup a Paypal account. Why, for many reasons, most of today’s online shoppers only feel safe using their Paypal account to make online transactions.
  

• Do not accept checks! There are plenty of scam artist in the world. And the last thing you need is for a check to bounce in your account.

Many website that sell traffic will lead you to think that if you purchase (x) amount of traffic, that you will make tons of money.

Yes, you will receive tons of traffic, but not quality traffic. Most of your visitors will not be interested in your product or service. And as quick as they access your site they will leave it.

This type of information can be misleading and harmful to your website giving you false impression that your website is successful. Unfortunately, this type of traffic is bad traffic, because these visitors are not interest in your website. Their only goal is to accumulate credits to make money themselves.
